The Chippendale International School of Furniture is
an independent, educational organisation
dedicated to the design, making and conservation of furniture.
It is the only one of its kind in Scotland.
The aim of the school is to develop craftsmen and women with expertise
and professionalism,
who have
a thorough practical knowledge, balanced with a sound
theoretical and technical awareness.
The course is devoted to ensuring that students have the skill and
knowledge to establish their own
business
or to secure positions in professional workshops or the arts and
museums.
The Chippendale International School of Furniture is located in the
heart of the East Lothian countryside.
Set deep amongst beautiful rolling hills, the school is only half an
hour from the
historic city of Edinburgh with its inimitable culture and vitality.
The School is set in four acres of grounds, half a mile outside the
picturesque village of Gifford,
its hilltop position offering panoramic views of the surrounding
unspoilt countryside.
